  • Maria Colomé-Tatché studied Physics at the Autonomus University of Barcelona. She obtained a Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics at the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris and a PhD in Physics at the University of Paris Sud. After a short postdoctoral stay at the University of Hannover, she moved to the Groningen Bioinformatics Centre where she successfully transitioned into the field of quantitative biology, being involved in some of the first large scale population epigenetic studies in model organisms.

    Maria Colomé-Tatché currently holds a Rosalind Franklin Fellowship at the Department of the Biology of Ageing at ERIBA. She uses quantitative epigenetic techniques to study the role of combinatorial epigenetic changes during ageing. Taking advantage of her background in mathematics and modeling, she combines computational and theoretical approaches to quantify these epigenetic changes on a genome-wide scale.

    Maria Colomé-Tatché was awarded a Meervoud NWO grant in December 2012. Since April 2016 Maria is also a Team leader at the Institute of Computational Biology at the Helmholtz Zentrum München (Germany).
