Doctoral degree for Georges Janssens

On Friday February 19, Georges Janssens successfully defended his dissertation titled “A system wide view of replicative aging in budding yeast”. In his thesis Georges describes two new methods that were developed to study the ageing process in yeast.  Using these new methods, he was able to map the many molecular changes that occur as yeast ages, and predict which may be the most causal in the ageing process.

Georges will continue his academic career with a postdoc position at Integrated Cardio Metabolic Center (ICMC) at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm/Sweden. He will be working at the Riedel Laboratory of former ERIBA PI Christain Riedel.
